Ok so now that im gonna be back building this weekend im gonna get cracked on with some north shore and woodwork stuff in little whistler. The problem is that for wall rides and stuff that want to be made to carve up and down etc we need board rather than planks. The problem is that we are going to need exterior treated ply, ive been researching and theres 2 kinds, WBP(Water and Boil Proof) and marine ply which they used to build boats but thats about £35 a sheet!!!!!! So thats out of the question, but WBP is also really expensive, ive managed to find on ebay 18mm chinese wbp ply which works out to be £15.95+vat for a pack of 20 sheets so it will work out at £440 delivered

So what ya'll reckon, its a lot of money! I think we need board to build the wallrides but dont know if we can afford that lol

Let me know your thoughts

sterling board is what you want Smile

its like chipboard but with big chips (you'll of seen it before) not sure but we might have a few sheets spare (just looked and theres 3sheets left but we might be using it)

its about 15quid a sheet aswell i think

dont bother with any specially treated wood (sterling board is ok for outdoors) just paint it all anyway. could have some funky designs on them and stuff Very HappyVery Happy

what sort of sizes are you looking at building the wallrides? the sheets we've got a standard 8x4ft n theres possibly 3 of them

il have a tootle about on friday and get some prices Smile jus give me an idea of how many sheets you want and il try and do a deal with some people Smile

well thats what i was thinking, either way if wee use treated ply or sterling board, it just needs to last! painting it would be a cool idea altho i think it would be better if we didn't have to jus cos its gonna increase costs which isn't a good thing. If we use would that would last anyway, anythen paint it after it would be sweet!

I think either way its gonna be around £15 a sheet. Im not sure on how much, i wanna build all the wallride as big as possible us so they're not sketchy but i don't know how many sheets we will need, i was thinking if we got around 20 i think that equates to about 60 square metres which is alot and i don't think we will need anymore after that. but the more we get the cheaper they will be, it jus depends all on how we get the money together and how much

Yea will be building quite a bit now, gonna take it easy tho but will definitely get cracked on, chrissy can i leave you to sort out the 6 pack? il help ya if its just moving soil n donkey work or ill bring the loadall up if i can when it dries but you can shape them how you want co you know whats the crack with them. just make them really flowy and fun to ride Very Happy

Im gonna concentrate on gettin some wooden stuff built but with it being in the same field as the bridalway its gonna need to be seriously strong and reliable so it might take a while to build stuff but at least it will be there for a while!

We also gonna need to get the QP sorted but if we have a day wheres theres a few of us we can jus get it dug out, altho i think we need to shape it then leave at least a week or so and then rework the face, its gonna take a lot of looking after but should be worth it now its wider

sweet sounds good ses, what size are they?

I went up today and got started on a new box jump in the field, its down the bottom cos i thught we were getting to much stuff concentrated in that top corner. I got 6 holes dug for the posts and 3 of em in and ready to go altho i couldnt do any more cos i need a hand moving logs, i dont wanna do too much straight away. Its gonna look amazing when its built tho cant wait!

Its about 5 foot tall at the start and then the drop will be 6-7 i think im not sure but i we want it bigger we can make the end of the box into a kicker Twisted Evil jus watch your spleens everyone Laughing

they are all different lenghts mate so cant really say i was thinking why dont we on the take offs embed small planks in to them it will save them from eroding to quicky and they will look funky to

yea would look cool but if the wobble it will make the take off erode quicker and would be better using the wood for shore stuff imo
